10,000 Citizens Gather at Dongtan Yeoul Park… Hwaseong's First Regional Concert 'a Huge Hit'

Around 10,000 citizens gathered for a summer evening outdoor concert hosted by Hwaseong Special City's Dongtan-gu District.

This is the first regional concert held since the launch of the four-district system in February, intended to allow citizens to enjoy cultural performances near their homes without age restrictions.

According to Hwaseong Special City on the 23rd, Dongtan-gu held the regional concert 'REWIND Dance Night!' on the 22nd at the soccer field of Dongtan Yeoul Park.

The 120-minute performance beginning at 7 p.m. saw all 3,000 seats filled with an additional 10,000 citizens standing in designated areas.

The stage opened with a chorus performance by the local children's choir 'Singing Angels.' Cleo and Kim Hyun-jung followed with classic hit songs, while Lee Jae-hun (COOL) sang his representative tracks to enthusiastic cheers from the audience. Citizens sang along and enjoyed the summer evening.

Hwang Guk-hwan, Chief of Dongtan-gu District Office, said, "I thank all citizens for creating this special summer evening together," and added, "We will continue to create cultural spaces where people of all ages can come together."

Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong Special City, said, "It is all the more meaningful that so many citizens participated in this first regional concert held in Dongtan-gu since the launch of the four-district system," and continued, "We will further expand opportunities for citizens to enjoy high-quality performances and culture in their daily lives so they can feel that 'living in Dongtan was a good choice.'"
