Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il Visits Free Vehicle Inspection Site for Disabled Drivers
Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il visited the site of the '2026 Free Vehicle Inspection for Disabled Drivers' event held on the 6th at the auxiliary stadium parking lot in Samga-dong, where he encouraged members of the Gyeonggi Province Automotive Service Cooperatives Yongin Branch.
The event was held ahead of Chuseok by the Gyeonggi Province Automotive Service Cooperatives Yongin Branch to help disabled drivers safely return home for the holidays and operate their vehicles safely. A total budget of 10 million won was allocated, including 5 million won in provincial funds and 5 million won in city funds, for free replacement of consumables.
Mayor Lee Sang-il stated, "Despite the hot weather and it being a holiday, I am grateful to the cooperative members who took time out of their day to volunteer and ensure that our citizens can operate their vehicles more safely and comfortably ahead of Chuseok."
The event was attended by approximately 80 members of the Yongin Branch and students from the Automotive and Mechanical Engineering Department of Yongin University of Science and Technology.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., they inspected batteries and steering and braking conditions, replaced consumables such as light bulbs, wipers, and air conditioning filters, and provided detailed explanations of the inspection results to vehicle owners.
