Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin Special City Visits Free Vehicle Inspection Site for People with Disabilities
On September 6th, Mayor Lee Sang-il of Yongin Special City visited the site of the "2026 Free Vehicle Inspection for People with Disabilities" event held at the parking lot of the auxiliary stadium of Mir Stadium in Samga-dong, where he encouraged members of the Yongin branch of the Gyeonggi Province Automotive Specialist Repair Association.
The event was held ahead of Chuseok, organized by the Yongin branch of the Gyeonggi Province Automotive Specialist Repair Association to assist drivers with disabilities in safe homecoming and vehicle operation during the holiday. A total budget of 10 million won—consisting of 5 million won from provincial funds and 5 million won from city funds—was allocated for the free replacement of consumables.
Mayor Lee stated, "I am grateful to the association members who have taken time to volunteer despite the hot weather and the holiday, so that citizens can operate their vehicles more safely and comfortably ahead of Chuseok."
Approximately 80 members of the Yongin branch and students from the Automotive Mechanics Department of Yongin Arts and Science University participated in the event.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., they inspected batteries, steering and braking conditions, and replaced consumables such as bulbs, wipers, and air conditioning filters, providing vehicle owners with detailed explanations of the inspection results.
