Suwon's Five Universities Hold United Festival 'Sufereal Festival'

Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) held the '2026 Sufereal Suwon City University Students United Festival' on the 12th at Suwon Gymnasium in the Suwon Sports Complex. Some 500 participants, including university students, international students, and young people, attended the event.

Held for the second time this year, '2026 Sufereal' is a festival where students from Gyeonggi University, Dongnam Health University, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon Women's University, Ajou University, and international students gather to interact, bond, and communicate. Suwon City and the Fourth Term Suwon City University Council jointly prepared the event.

'Sufereal' means 'Su(won) young people's Fe(stival) real(ly fun),' with the name determined by gathering opinions from members of the Fourth Term Suwon City University Council. The Suwon City University Council is a consultative body where university students in the city expand their exchanges and share diverse opinions.

The main stage featured joint performances by the cheering squads of Gyeonggi University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Ajou University, as well as invited performances by the KT cheering squad and youth art teams. Nine teams from clubs at the five universities showcased their talents and passion through diverse performances including bands, dance, musicals, DJing, and traditional percussion performances.

The five universities set up university promotional booths and unique department and club experience booths. International students operated programs to showcase their countries' cultures, including Chinese and Vietnamese food culture experiences, world culture games, and traditional games by country.

A blind date booth planned by the Fourth Term Suwon City University Council, Suwon FC experience and promotional booths, and Suwon City policy promotional booths also attracted participants.

Suwon Special City Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "This is a meaningful festival where students from five universities transcend university boundaries to communicate with each other and become one under the name Suwon," and "Since universities are the competitive edge of a city, I will work to create a city where young people can learn, grow, and pursue their dreams in Suwon."
