Osan Osaek Market Reduces Delivery Burden with 'Digital Delivery Center'
Osan City announced on the 26th that it held an opening ceremony for the 'Digital Delivery Center' at the Osaek Market Customer Support Center and commenced operations.
The Digital Delivery Center is a delivery support system jointly established by Osaek Market and CJ Logistics. It is the second nationwide following Daepyeong Market in Daejeon, and the first among traditional markets in Gyeonggi Province. Osaek Market was selected as the target site due to merchants' strong commitment to improving logistics infrastructure and significant potential for business expansion based on the abundant foot traffic from the nearby subway station.
The opening ceremony was attended by Osan Mayor Cho Yong-ho, Gyeonggi Province councilors, the president of the National Merchants Association, and officials from CJ Logistics, who introduced the delivery center's operational system and demonstrated the collection process.
When merchants call to request delivery service, a dedicated delivery manager visits the store to collect products, which are then loaded onto CJ Logistics vehicles in the evening for nationwide delivery. This is expected to reduce the inconvenience that solo merchants previously faced by having to close their shops and personally visit post offices to submit parcels.
Osan Mayor Cho Yong-ho said, "We will ensure it is stably established on-site and enhance the competitiveness of Osaek Market."
