Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education Integrates Reading, Arts, and Sports into Schools' Daily Life
The Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education of Gyeonggi Province (Education Director Kim Young-gi) will hold the '2026 Academic Year Second Semester Principal and Vice-Principal Conference' for kindergartens, elementary schools, and special schools under its jurisdiction over two days, the 7th and 8th, at Hotel Purmire.
This conference was organized to share major Gyeonggi Province education policies and to find practical implementation methods suited to each school's circumstances based on inter-school cooperation. On the 7th, principals and kindergarten directors will participate, and on the 8th, vice-principals and vice-kindergarten directors will attend sessions featuring policy briefings, case sharing, leadership seminars for administrators, and district-level mentoring consultations.
At the principal and kindergarten director conference on the 7th, '2026 Hwaseong-Osan Daium RAS ON' examined the direction of reading, arts, and sports education and practical application methods in schools. Following a video presentation on RAS operations, Education Director Kim Young-gi briefed attendees on Gyeonggi Province's educational transformation and RAS policy, and shared operational experiences from Youngcheon Elementary School. Based on the goals of 'Thinking deeply! Sensibilities richly! Bodies healthily!' participants aligned their efforts to connect reading, arts, and sports education to students' learning and daily lives.
At the vice-principal and vice-kindergarten director conference on the 8th, policies necessary for school management, including second semester priority tasks, RAS education, and educational activity protection, were briefed. Attendees will examine the purpose and implementation details of these policies while sharing the role of vice-principals and vice-kindergarten directors in supporting implementation in school settings.
The 'Leadership Seminars for Administrators in the AI Era,' held over two days, will feature presentations by CEO Cho Yong-min on the 7th and Professor Kim Sang-gyun on the 8th. The Office of Education organized this to examine the direction of education in response to environmental changes in the AI era and to reflect on the role of administrators in supporting learning and growth among school members.
The final session of the conference featured district-level mentoring consultations on the theme of 'Activating RAS through Connections with School Autonomous Projects.' Participants discussed ways to connect RAS education to school autonomous projects based on each school's circumstances and educational activities, while schools within districts shared experiences and cases to identify collective implementation tasks.
Kim Young-gi, Education Director of the Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education, stated, "Education that deepens students' thinking, enriches their sensibilities, and promotes physical health must be sustained in schools' daily lives," and added, "I will listen to voices from the field and provide support so that experiences and strengths accumulated by each school are shared within the district and lead to implementation suited to each school."
