Hwaseong Special City's Mansei-gu Installs Flood Evacuation Facility at Geumgok Underpass

Mansei-gu in Hwaseong Special City announced on the 11th that it has installed emergency evacuation facilities equipped with a rescue kit and emergency ladder at the Geumgok Underpass in the area of 815-8, Sangsin-ri, Hyungnam-eup to prepare for flooding accidents at underpasses caused by heavy rainfall.

This project was undertaken to provide an environment where citizens can evacuate quickly in emergency situations such as underpasses flooding or vehicles becoming stranded due to concentrated rainfall, and to prevent loss of life and property damage.

In particular, the Geumgok Underpass is the first case among underpasses in Hwaseong Special City to have emergency evacuation facilities equipped with both a rescue kit and an emergency ladder. Mansei-gu plans to regularly inspect and maintain the rescue kit and emergency ladder so that citizens can quickly utilize the facilities in emergency situations.

Hong No-mi, head of Mansei-gu Office, said, "Since underpasses can flood rapidly when heavy rain falls in a short period of time, it is important to prepare means for citizens to evacuate quickly in urgent situations in advance," and added, "We expect the emergency evacuation facility installed this time to serve as a safety device that protects citizens' lives in actual disaster situations."

Going forward, Mansei-gu plans to strengthen prevention-oriented safety management by regularly inspecting the emergency evacuation facility at Geumgok Underpass, identifying disaster-vulnerable facilities in advance, and supplementing necessary safety facilities.
