Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun: "Grateful to Parent Support Group of Cheongaeguri Classroom, a Successful Model of Specialized Education"
Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun stated, "I express my gratitude to the members of the Cheongaeguri Classroom parent support group who have dedicated themselves to fostering the creative growth of elementary school students on the frontlines of our schools."
At the workshop for the Cheongaeguri Classroom parent support group held by Suwon City on the 22nd at Suwon Youth Hostel, Mayor Lee said, "Thanks to the exceptional dedication of the parent support group and customized classes, the program is receiving positive responses from schools, students, and parents alike," adding, "We will spare no effort in supporting the Cheongaeguri Classroom to firmly establish itself as a successful model of Suwon-style specialized education."
The workshop was organized to encourage parent support group members active in schools and to explore sustainable development strategies among support groups. Approximately 150 members of the Cheongaeguri Classroom parent support group, who work in customized specialized fields by grade level at elementary schools, attended.
At the event, parent support group members from various fields attended, including △Ecological Environment (Grade 1) 35 members △Artificial Intelligence (AI) Robotics (Grade 2) 36 members △Culture and Arts (Grade 3) 41 members △Coding Drone (Grade 4) 33 members △Global Citizenship (Grade 5) 15 members △Artificial Intelligence (AI) Convergence (Grade 6) 18 members, sharing on-site activity experiences and operational know-how.
The workshop proceeded under five themes: 'Achievement-Up,' 'Competency-Up,' 'Tension-Up,' 'Mindset-Up,' and 'Atmosphere-Up.' An expert special lecture for enhancing the instructional capacity of parent support group members—"Participation Techniques to Enhance Youth Concentration"—was well-received.
A 'Team Building Recreation' session was also held to foster exchange and camaraderie among parent support group members. Mayor Lee delivered opening remarks and participated in icebreaker programs, communicating with the parent support group.
The Cheongaeguri Classroom parent instructors are parents who have completed the 'DODO Project' instructor training course. They teach at 'Suwon-style specialized classrooms' (Ecological Environment, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Robotics, Culture and Arts, Coding Drone, Global Citizenship, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Convergence).
Cheongaeguri Classroom is one of the Cheongaeguri SPEC projects, which is Suwon City's education brand.
