Gyeonggi Province Office of Education Launches 'New Public Official Mentor Group' to Support Workplace Adaptation
The Gyeonggi Province Office of Education (Superintendent An Min-seok) operated a 'New Public Official Mentor Group Capacity Enhancement Program' for approximately 60 mentors on the 11th at the Jowon Office Building of the Gyeonggi Province Office of Education.
The training was organized to support stable public service adaptation for new public officials by sharing diverse mentoring experiences and challenges accumulated by mentors in the field, understanding the role of mentors, and learning effective coaching techniques.
The training program was conducted based on the results of prior needs surveys, covering △sharing mentoring activity cases △coaching techniques to support mentee growth △mind healing and stress management.
The Provincial Office of Education has been operating mentor groups for new public officials at 25 education support offices since 2025, and is supporting new public officials' task and emotional adaptation through various monthly activity themes including work study sessions, public service value cultivation, and local area familiarization.
Shin Hye-sun, Director of the Administrative Capacity Division at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "A mentor is a guide that connects one person's experience to another person's growth," and added, "Through this training, we will strengthen the capacity of mentors and actively support new public officials to adapt stably to public service."
