Yongin Office of Education Discusses RAS Education Activation Plans with 80 Students
The Yongin Office of Education (Superintendent Jo Young-min) discussed educational policies with students and explored ways to reflect students' voices in school settings and Yongin education.
On the 12th, the Yongin Office of Education held a candid conversation between the superintendent and students as part of the '2026 Yongin Mir-ai Youth Education Council activities.' About 80 participants, including members of the Youth Education Council and students from student autonomous government networks, shared opinions on school life and educational policies.
Students held discussions on the themes of 'RAS education activation methods in schools' and 'SNS usage regulations for youth.' They discussed the necessity and limitations of SNS regulations and responsible usage methods for healthy digital life, and explored directions for student-led RAS education that enables students to experience Reading, Arts, and Sports in their school lives.
In a subsequent empathy talk, students and the superintendent freely exchanged views based on the students' discussion results and policy proposals. Superintendent Jo Young-min responded to students' questions and discussed ways that their suggestions could be connected to school settings and Yongin education.
This candid conversation provided an opportunity for students to directly propose opinions and participate in educational policies as subjects of education. Following the first session, a second part featured 'Emotion ON! Emotional Intelligence & Leadership Communication Education.' Students watched an emotional and communication harmony musical, experiencing the meaning of empathy and communication while developing emotional intelligence and relationship competencies needed for student leaders.
Superintendent Jo Young-min stated, "It is important that students voice their opinions on issues they directly experience and struggle with in school and daily life," and added, "We will continue to communicate so that students' proposals can lead to changes in schools and Yongin education policies, and we will expand opportunities for student autonomy and policy participation."
