Police Response to 'Armed Assault' Situations...Northern Gyeonggi Autonomous Police Youth Supporters Experience Firsthand

The Northern Gyeonggi Autonomous Police Commission held a mock drill observation activity on the 11th at the Uijeongbu Police Station Jangam Public Safety Center Training Facility to help young people directly understand the police's on-site response system for various crisis situations, including armed assault and crimes with unusual motives.

The training instructor was Shin In-ho, team leader of the 5th Patrol Team at the Singok Police Box of Uijeongbu Police Station, who was selected as the best patrol team leader at local police boxes nationwide last year. Before 18 fifth-generation autonomous police youth supporters who observed the training, Team Leader Shin explained the actual response procedures, including initial measures when an armed assault situation occurs, on-site assessment, suspect control, and safety assurance.

The students directly experienced how critical the police's swift judgment and response are to citizen safety in urgent crisis situations that simulated real scenarios. Two active-duty police mentors participating in coordination activities with the supporters also attended, answering questions about police duties and the role of autonomous police while sharing actual field experiences and communicating.

Lee Sang-ro, chairman of the Northern Gyeonggi Autonomous Police Commission, said, "Swift and systematic on-site police response is important to protect residents' safety in crisis situations," and added, "Going forward, we will actively support young people in directly experiencing various public safety scenes, understanding the role of autonomous police, and raising awareness about it widely in local communities."
