Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myeong-geun) announced on the 4th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with APS Group to establish a 'corporate partnership garden' utilizing green spaces at Dongtan Yeoul Park.

The signing ceremony held at the Dongtan District Office was attended by Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myeong-geun and APS Co., Ltd. Vice Chairman Kwon Young-chan along with related officials, who pledged mutual cooperation for creating the corporate partnership garden and improving the local environment.

This agreement was established to connect corporate practices of environment, social, and transparent management (ESG) with the activation of local green spaces and to create garden spaces that citizens can enjoy in their daily lives.

Under the agreement, the city will develop underutilized green spaces within Dongtan Yeoul Park into corporate partnership gardens to improve space utilization and scenery, while APS Group will participate in garden creation and practice environment, social, and transparent management (ESG) for co-prosperity with the local community.

The city expects that once the corporate partnership garden is established, it will provide citizens with comfortable green rest spaces while serving as a new example of public-private cooperation that realizes corporate social value and promotes community contribution.

In particular, this project aligns with the direction of the 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong' initiative being pursued by Hwaseong Special City. The city plans to broaden citizens' opportunities to enjoy garden culture by having both the public and private sectors develop distinctive gardens in green spaces throughout the city, thereby enhancing the city's green value and brand competitiveness.

APS Co., Ltd. Vice Chairman Kwon Young-chan stated, "The creation of this corporate partnership garden is one of APS Group's ESG management practices to grow together with the local community and expand green spaces in the urban area," and added, "We will continue to pursue various ESG activities that can substantially contribute to the environment and local community."

Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myeong-geun said, "This agreement is a meaningful collaboration in which corporations and local government work together to enhance the value of green spaces and share its benefits with citizens," and expressed, "I hope the corporate partnership garden will become a space that provides citizens with rest and leisure in their daily lives."
