Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Yulgok Training Institute Operates Third Tunnel and Dorasan Observatory Exploration Camp

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Yulgok Training Institute (Director Kim Young-hun) will operate "Unification Talk! Youth Empathy Camp" for elementary school students and families throughout Gyeonggi Province.

Taking into account the interests of students by grade level, the camp will be divided into a total of two sessions (40 participants per session) and will utilize unification education resources in the border area of Paju. The camp is designed to allow students to reflect on and experience the meaning of peace and unification through family communication and collaborative inquiry, enabling generations to form shared understanding of unification together.

Session 1 (September 4-5) will be held for families with elementary school grades 3-4 students, while Session 2 (September 11-12) will be operated for families with elementary school grades 5-6 students.

On the first day of the camp, participants will explore the meaning of unification and peace centered on the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Future Unification Education Center and Yulgok Training Institute. On the second day, participants will visit the Third Tunnel and Dorasan Observatory, representative on-site unification education venues in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), where they will directly confront the reality of division and have time to share thoughts with their families about peace and coexistence on the Korean Peninsula.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Yulgok Training Institute expects this camp to serve as an opportunity for families to review the history and present of the border area together and share thoughts about unification, recognizing it as a more familiar and accessible topic.
