Yangju City held a meeting of the 'Gwacheon Horse Racing Park Yangju Attraction Task Force' headed by the Yangju Mayor on the 4th at City Hall, and discussed field-specific response strategies and implementation plans for attracting the horse racing park.

The Task Force (TF) is composed of six departments including an attraction coordination division, external cooperation division, strategic support division, road and traffic division, public relations support division, and planning and legal division, with the mayor as the head. Through inter-departmental collaboration, the city plans to promote comprehensive attraction activities.

The main agenda items discussed at this meeting included △sharing trends related to the Gwacheon Horse Racing Park relocation △reviewing laws and regulations related to urban planning △public transportation and regional transportation improvement measures △public relations strategies △and building civic consensus.

Yangju Mayor Jung Deok-young stated, "Attracting the Gwacheon Horse Racing Park is a core strategic project leading balanced development of northern Gyeonggi and Yangju's future leap forward." He added, "Although fierce competition is expected with other local governments such as Siheung City, which has the Shin-hyeon Station area, and Hwaseong City, which possesses idle land of the Korea Racing Association, all related departments will unite as one team and make full efforts to attract the park based on Yangju's superior competitive advantages and differentiated strengths."

Based on the matters discussed at this meeting, the city plans to specify public transportation improvement measures and review related laws and regulations, and will continue additional consultations and promotion activities with the government and Korea Racing Association.
