Suwon City Completes Road Project in Green Belt Zone of Sangkwanggyo-dong

Suwon Metropolitan City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) completed the "Small Road 3-881 Road Construction Project" in the vicinity of Lot 142-2, Sangkwanggyo-dong, Jangan-gu, and officially opened it on August 23.

The Sangkwanggyo-dong area is a green belt zone where the expansion of infrastructure facilities is restricted, resulting in narrow access roads. Vehicle traffic has been difficult, and since city gas pipelines could not be laid on existing informal roads rather than formal roads, residents have experienced considerable inconvenience.

Suwon City invested a total project cost of 2.657 billion won from 2016 to 2026 to construct a road measuring 514 meters in length and 6 meters in width. The project was pursued by securing national funds through selection in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "Green Belt Zone Resident Support Project."

With the opening of this formal road, traffic conditions have improved overall, and a foundation for establishing essential infrastructure such as city gas has been secured, which is expected to significantly enhance residents' living conditions in the future.

A Suwon City official stated, "We have achieved results in road construction after making multifaceted efforts to secure national funds over a long period," and added, "Going forward, we will continue to identify areas within green belt zones with insufficient infrastructure and resolve residents' inconveniences."
