Democratic Unification Advisory Council Hwaseong City Committee Holds 3rd Quarter Regular Meeting, Appoints 31 Advisory Members

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myeong-geun) attended the "2026 3rd Quarter Regular Meeting" of the Democratic Unification Advisory Council Hwaseong City Committee (Committee Chair Song Ki-won) held on the 31st at the Grand Auditorium of Hwaseong City Hall, presenting appointment certificates to newly appointed advisory members and emphasizing the role of the local community in peace and unification of the Korean Peninsula.

At the meeting, the Hwaseong Special City Mayor personally presented appointment certificates to 31 newly appointed advisory members of the Democratic Unification Advisory Council Hwaseong City Committee, congratulating them on beginning their activities and expressing gratitude for taking on this important role for peace.

Among the 31 newly appointed members are provincial council members, city council members, and regional professional representatives elected in the local elections held in July.

Mayor Jung Myeong-geun of Hwaseong Special City stated in his remarks, "In the midst of rapidly changing international circumstances and complex crises, peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula are important issues that we must all contemplate and create together," and added, "I hope that the advisory members of the Democratic Unification Advisory Council will make efforts to gather diverse opinions from the local community and actively communicate with citizens to broaden consensus on peace and unification."

The Democratic Unification Advisory Council Hwaseong City Committee carries out various activities including policy recommendations, forming consensus on unification, and community communication to gather public opinion on unification in the region and broaden citizen consensus on peaceful unification.
