The Gyeonggi Province Future Science Education Center (Director Hyun Gye-myeong) held the finals of the '2026 Gyeonggi Province Youth Science Inquiry Competition (Convergent Science)'.
The competition, held on the 29th at the Gyeonggi Province Future Science Education Center (Suwon), was organized to help students develop convergent science inquiry competencies by creatively solving various problems of future society using artificial intelligence (AI) and cutting-edge digital technology and implementing ideas into tangible outcomes.
The finals included 72 students from 12 elementary, 12 middle, and 12 high school teams (36 teams total) who advanced through preliminary rounds.
Students collaborated in pairs of two to analyze given problems, devise solutions, prepare project proposals and design drawings, and then produced and presented final outputs using artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools.
Evaluation was conducted comprehensively on not only the final products but also the clarity and systematicity of planning, completeness, creativity, and practicality of outputs, presentation capabilities, and understanding and application of digital technology.
Teams advancing to the finals will receive certificates from the Gyeonggi Province Future Science Education Center Director, and outstanding teams are planned to be recommended for the national competition organized by the Korea Science and Creativity Foundation.
