Gyeonggi Province Recruits Couples for Pregnancy and Childbirth Classes in Pocheon, Yeoncheon, and Bucheon

Gyeonggi Province is recruiting participants for the Gyeonggi Pregnancy and Childbirth Class program designed for first-time expectant mothers and fathers.

The province operates various educational programs from March to November for pregnant women and their spouses residing in Gyeonggi Province, including △understanding pregnancy and childbirth processes △prenatal education and child development education △understanding postpartum depression △forest healing programs, and more.

The educational programs are operated as outreach initiatives across regions over a total of 10 sessions including 2 multicultural sessions, recruiting 15 couples of pregnant women and their spouses per session.

Currently, 6 sessions of educational programs (Anyang) have been completed, with 3 remaining sessions scheduled for September (multicultural, Pocheon), October (Yeoncheon), and November (Bucheon). The province is recruiting expectant mothers and fathers from these respective regions to participate in the program.

Kim Nam-su, director of the Health Promotion Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Through the Gyeonggi Pregnancy and Childbirth Class program, we expect to provide first-time mothers and fathers with diverse background knowledge and experiences necessary throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing, and to enhance positive perceptions of childbirth," and added, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to implement various projects targeting pregnant women, their spouses, and infertile couples to improve the quality of life and health of its residents."
