Provincial Councilor Lee Geon-han Secures Budget for Educational Environment Improvements at 4 Schools in Yongin Suji
Lee Geon-han, a member of the Gyeonggi Province Assembly's Education Planning Committee (Democratic Party, Yongin District 8), announced that he has secured 329.73 million won in budget for small-scale educational environment improvement projects in the second half of 2026 for 4 schools located in Pungdeokcheon 2-dong and Sinbong-dong, Suji-gu.
This budget will be invested in facility improvements to reflect urgent improvement needs in schools and enable students to learn in a safer and more pleasant environment. The projects include △replacement of aging desks and chairs at Ihyeon Middle School, △restroom tile repairs at Sinwol Elementary School, △music room environmental improvements at Sinbong Middle School, and △computer room renovation at Pungcheon Elementary School, with allocations focused on spaces frequently used by students on a daily basis.
Councilor Lee has been continuously coordinating with the Yongin Office of Education to ensure that school-specific issues are reflected in actual budgets.
"Schools are spaces where students spend most of their day learning and growing, so even a small facility directly affects learning rights and the quality of school life," said Lee. "I hope that with this budget secured, students will be able to live and study in better environments."
"Going forward, I will continue to listen directly to voices from the field and actively communicate with the Gyeonggi Province Office of Education to ensure necessary projects are implemented in a timely manner, and I will continue my legislative work that finds answers in the field," he emphasized.
