Kim Eun-hye Becomes New Chair of Gyeonggi Province Party, Appoints Bae Ji-hwan, Suwon City Councilman, as Youth Committee Chair
The People Power Party's Gyeonggi Province chapter held an inauguration ceremony for newly appointed Chair Kim Eun-hye and a certificate presentation ceremony for key party officials on the 26th, appointing Bae Ji-hwan, a Suwon City councilman, as the Youth Committee Chair of the Gyeonggi Province chapter.
In her inaugural address, Gyeonggi Province Party Chair Kim Eun-hye stated, "To make a leap forward as an alternative political party that will change the lives of provincial residents, we will establish a new Gyeonggi Province Party Policy Research Institute and uncover customized issues for all 31 cities and counties through data," and added, "In particular, we will deploy young talents who will lead Gyeonggi Province's future throughout the party and grant them substantive authority."
Bae Ji-hwan, the newly appointed Youth Committee Chair, emphasized that young people must be able to directly experience change through politics.
Chair Bae stated, "The once-inevitable life path of going through 'education-employment-dating-marriage-childbirth' and then moving toward 'asset formation and home ownership' has been progressively disrupted, yet rather than addressing fundamental problems, the situation is worsening with one-time cash support and similar measures," and emphasized, "What young people need is not for the state to decide something for them, but to expand their opportunities for choice so they can design their own lives and take on challenges."
Meanwhile, approximately 250 people attended the event, including newly appointed Gyeonggi Province Party Chair Kim Eun-hye, National Assembly members from Gyeonggi Province and party chapter chairs, key party officials of the provincial chapter, and heads of basic local government units, as well as provincial and local councilmen from the party.
