Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Power the Future Party Criticizes "Gyeonggi Provincial Supplementary Budget Carelessly Compiled...Hidden Debt Reaches 7.5 Trillion Won"

[News S=Cheon Ui-hyun Reporter] The Power the Future Party in the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly held a press conference on the 31st criticizing the province's Second Supplementary Budget.

Floor Leader Bang Sung-hwan pointed out that 136.7 billion won in municipal bonds were reduced and diverted to other projects including medical assistance and school meal expenses. He stated that when hidden debt of 346 billion won in unpaid funds is added to the 7.0415 trillion won in debt that must be repaid over 10 years starting from 2027, the total reaches 7.4679 trillion won.

He also claimed that former Governor Lee Jae-myung's youth basic income of 16.3 billion won was increased in the fourth quarter, while Governor Kim Dong-yeon's opportunity income for artists, athletes, and people with disabilities was drastically cut. He stated that personnel costs and material expenses of 42.6 billion won, inter-municipal transfer expenses of 57.1 billion won, public institution budgets of 153.5 billion won, and private subsidies and outsourcing projects of 34.8 billion won were all cut without consultation or performance evaluation and without principles.

Floor Leader Bang particularly criticized that among 2,714 self-directed projects, the budgets of 1,363 projects were reduced, and while the youth marriage congratulation point support project was entirely cut, Gyeonggi Province must still bear the related fixed costs of 60 million won.
