Gwangmyeong Citizens Participate in 'Social Living Lab' to Discover and Resolve Civil Complaints

Gwangmyeong City (Mayor Park Seung-won) announced that it has launched a 'citizen-participatory demonstration project' in which citizens directly discover regional issues and participate in the solution process.

On the 5th, the city held the 'Citizen-Participatory Artificial Intelligence (AI) Social Living Lab-Let's Try Together Citizen Workshop' in the main conference room of City Hall with 100 citizens in attendance.

This workshop was organized as the first stage of a social living lab in which citizens directly discover regional issues felt in their daily lives, seek solutions, and participate in the actual resolution process.

On the day, citizens were divided into 10 groups to identify regional issues closely related to daily life such as △care △youth △culture △digital △environment, and discussed necessary tasks and specific solutions. Following group presentations to share tasks, citizen teams to participate in future demonstration projects were formed through AI-based task matching.

Gwangmyeong City will operate this social living lab in a manner where citizens discover problems, propose solutions, and directly experiment with the resolution process.

Gwangmyeong Mayor Park Seung-won stated, "When citizens who experience regional issues most closely find problems themselves and participate in the resolution process, more realistic solutions can be created," and added, "We will develop a citizen-participatory social solidarity economy innovation model where citizens' ideas lead to actual regional change."

Meanwhile, the tasks discovered on this day will lead to a social living lab demonstration project with citizen participation through December. The city plans to support necessary activities during the demonstration process and share the progress and results of each task in December.
