Gyeonggi Healthy Game Culture Center Opens New Location in Bucheon
The Gyeonggi Game Culture Center, which had operated in Gwangmyeong for five years, has changed its name to the "Gyeonggi Healthy Game Culture Center" and relocated to Bucheon.
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency (hereinafter "Gyeonggi Content Agency") held a relocation opening ceremony for the Gyeonggi Healthy Game Culture Center on the 31st at Bucheon's Chunui Techno Park.
The relocation was undertaken to establish long-term operational stability for the Gyeonggi Game Culture Center, which opened in Gwangmyeong in 2021, and to provide residents with more systematic game culture services. The center has established its new location in a building operated by the Gyeonggi Content Agency (Building 202, Unit 1109, Chunui Techno Park 2, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon), and has renamed itself the "Gyeonggi Healthy Game Culture Center."
The newly opened center spans approximately 273 square meters (82.5 pyeong) and features spaces optimized for resident communication and professional education, including a counseling room, multi-purpose seminar room (integrated with e-sports training room), office, and lounge. The multi-purpose seminar room will be actively utilized not only for healthy game culture initiatives but also as an operational space for e-sports programs.
The opening ceremony was attended by Park Sang-hyun and Oh Nam-seok, vice chairs of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly's Future Science Cooperation Committee; Hyun Byung-cheon, director of the Gyeonggi Province Future Growth Industry Division; Tak Yong-seok, director of the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency; and other officials from game addiction counseling cooperation agencies, who celebrated the center's new beginning and shared its vision.
The opening ceremony included a special lecture by experts on "Game and AI Overuse" and a healing program for counselors, which strengthened the capabilities of experts working in counseling and acknowledged their efforts.
"For the Gyeonggi Healthy Game Culture Center to establish itself as a reliable support institution for residents, securing a stable foundation was the priority," said Hyun Byung-cheon, director of the Gyeonggi Province Future Growth Industry Division. "Based on the strengthened operational foundation from the relocation to Bucheon, we will continue to implement various programs for preventing game overuse and providing counseling, as well as spreading a healthy game culture."
