A Summer Night of Jazz Performances...Second Hwaseong Jazz Festival Concludes Successfully
Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun) successfully concluded the "2026 Second Hwaseong Jazz Festival" held at Bongdam 2 Eco-Sports Park on the 29th with over 1,000 citizens in attendance.
Held for the second time following last year's inaugural event, this festival was hosted by Hwaseong Special City and organized by the Hwaseong Culture and Tourism Foundation. It was held to broaden citizens' opportunities to experience culture and the arts, enjoy music in proximity to their daily lives, and create a cultural venue where people can come together in harmony.
The performances opened with the Cho Joon-hyung Quartet, who reinterpreted film soundtracks through jazz. Singer-songwriter YE.Z (Jang Ye-ji) followed with distinctive music, while jazz vocalist Moon Mi-hyang captivated audiences with her deep tone and emotional stage presence.
The final performance featured singer Lee Young-hyun, beloved for her explosive vocal prowess, who closed the festival with hits including "Butterfly," "There's No One Else Like That," and "Resignation."
In particular, this festival was structured to allow citizens to enjoy performances by musicians with different personalities and charms in one outdoor venue, offering them the diverse allure of jazz on a summer night.
Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun of Hwaseong Special City said, "Through the sight of citizens enjoying music together in one space, mediated by jazz melodies and harmonizing with one another, we were able to once again confirm the power that culture possesses. We will continue to strengthen the foundation so that the Hwaseong Jazz Festival becomes an iconic cultural event that adds special joy to citizens' daily lives and grows into a festival that widely promotes Hwaseong Special City's unique cultural appeal."
