24th Suwon Hwaseong Cup National Baduk Tournament for People with Disabilities and Suwon City Elementary and Middle School Students Held

Suwon Special Decree City announced on the 29th that it held the "24th Suwon Hwaseong Cup National Baduk Tournament for People with Disabilities and Suwon City Elementary and Middle School Students" at the gymnasium of Gyeonggi Province Talent Development Center.

The tournament was attended by approximately 310 participants from the divisions for people with disabilities and students, as well as approximately 500 volunteers and others. Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon Special Decree City also attended the tournament.

The Suwon Hwaseong Cup National Baduk Tournament for People with Disabilities and Suwon City Elementary and Middle School Students is a gathering of harmony where people with disabilities and non-disabled individuals come together and provides opportunities for young baduk enthusiasts to exchange. This year marks its 24th edition.

Yoon Young-sook, Director of Suwon City's Civil Welfare Bureau, said, "I hope this tournament becomes a gathering of harmony where, beyond winning and losing, people with disabilities gain confidence and students learn consideration and etiquette," and added, "We will do our best to break down the barriers between people with disabilities and non-disabled individuals and create a culture and sports environment that everyone can enjoy together."
