Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education Holds First Student Host Audition for RAS ON Student Arts Festival

The Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Young-gi) held its first student host recruitment audition to ensure the successful hosting of the Hwaseong-Osan Student Arts Festival scheduled for October.

The audition, promoted under the direction of Jo Bong-jun, Arts Education specialist who oversaw the planning of the Student Arts Festival, marks a significant departure from the previous method of selecting hosts without formal auditions. It was newly introduced to align with the expansion of the Hwaseong Art Center's grand theater to a 1,500-seat capacity and to transform the festival into a "student-led celebration."

The audition was held for middle and high school students within the district and recorded a competitive ratio of 10-to-1, demonstrating the passionate interest and expectations of students and the educational community. The first round of screening selected four candidates, double the number of final positions. In the subsequent second round of interviews, two hosts will be selected based on comprehensive evaluation of simulated responses to unexpected situations on-site, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities as co-hosts.

Superintendent Kim Young-gi of the Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education stated, "This year's Student Arts Festival marks a significant transformation into a meaningful stage where students directly plan and lead, transcending a simple viewing event. We will make our best efforts to support these passionate and talented students who overcame fierce competition so their abilities can shine on the 1,500-seat grand stage."

'RAS ON, A.R.T. Blossoming with 3,000 Flowers: Hwaseong-Osan Student Arts Festival' will open its curtain for two days starting October 7 at the Hwaseong Art Center's grand theater.
