The Pyeongtaek City Council announced on the 1st that it released a statement in front of the council's main building urging smooth progress on the construction of Ajou University Pyeongtaek Hospital.

The council stated, "The recent news that the construction of Ajou University's Pyeongtaek Hospital has encountered practical difficulties presents a heavy task," and added, "This is both a matter of healthcare rights for 670,000 Pyeongtaek residents and an issue of building regional medical infrastructure."

The council urged transparent and accurate communication of the current situation to citizens, the establishment of an official communication channel for Brain City residents, a change in the attitude and stance of Pyeongtaek City's executive branch, and the formation of a discussion body involving the mayor, members of the National Assembly, and the city council. The council stated, "We will actively participate in the discussion body and spare no effort in providing necessary administrative, institutional, and financial support."

Ajou University Pyeongtaek Hospital is being promoted with a target opening date of 2031 within the Brain City Medical Complex Town. In January, Together Holdings requested termination of the agreement citing rising construction costs, and discussions are ongoing.
