Suwon Special City Presents Awards at the 19th National Student Entrepreneurship and Invention Competition
Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) held an awards ceremony for the "19th National Entrepreneurship and Invention Competition" on the 26th at Novotel Ambassador Suwon and presented certificates to the winning teams.
Hosted by Suwon Special City and organized by the Suwon Urban Development Foundation and Samil Industrial High School, the National Entrepreneurship and Invention Competition was designed to vitalize entrepreneurship and invention activities among youth and discover and nurture future talents with creative ideas and invention capabilities.
This year, ten teams including Kim Min-jun from Jeju Central High School (motion energy-based unpowered centrifugal rotary smart umbrella drying system) won the grand prize, and 15 teams including Lee Dong-gun from Samil Industrial High School (LumiMind) won the excellence award. In total, 84 teams and 3 outstanding schools were awarded, including the grand and excellence prize winners.
Lee Won-gu, Director of Suwon City's Economic Policy Bureau, presented certificates to six teams selected among the grand prize winners for the Ministry of Science and ICT Award and the Suwon City Mayor's Award (Special Prize).
A Suwon City official stated, "We hope that students' creative ideas and spirit of challenge will serve as the foundation for innovation leading the future," and added, "We will continue to support young people so they can take interest in entrepreneurship and invention and grow into future talents."
