Hwaseong Special City Launches Chuseok Local Currency Cashback Event… Up to 20% Benefits
Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myeong-geun) will hold a 'Local Currency Chuseok Cashback Event' from September 14 to 23 to reduce the burden on citizens' shopping during the Chuseok holiday and help boost sales for local small merchants.
During the event period, in addition to the existing 10% local currency recharge incentive, an additional 10% cashback will be paid based on the transaction amount, allowing citizens to receive up to 20% in benefits. The cashback is provided when the local currency charged by the individual is used for payments of 30,000 won or more, and the maximum payment per person is 30,000 won.
The distributed cashback can be used until December 31, 2026. However, if the allocated budget is fully exhausted, the event may end early.
The city plans to establish a 'dual safety net for people's livelihoods' through this cashback event, not only spurring short-term consumption during the Chuseok holiday but also continuously inducing local consumption to provide citizens with tangible consumer benefits and local merchants with a stable demand base.
Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jung Myeong-geun said, "I hope this cashback event will ease the burden on citizens preparing for Chuseok and provide practical benefits to local small merchants' sales," and added, "We ask for your keen interest and participation so that a virtuous cycle can spread where citizens' consumption leads to local merchants' sales and in turn adds vitality to the local economy."
