Suwon City and Bonghwa County 'Coexist'…Cheongyangsan Suwon Camping Site Surpasses 10,000 Visitors

Suwon Special City announced that the 'Cheongyangsan Suwon Camping Site' has surpassed 10,000 visitors ten months after its opening.

As of August 31, cumulative visitors to the Cheongyangsan Suwon Camping Site reached 10,832. Among the visitors, Suwon citizens comprised 64% (6,942 people), indicating that the Cheongyangsan Suwon Camping Site has established itself as a recreational destination for Suwon residents.

The Cheongyangsan Suwon Camping Site, which opened on October 22 last year, operated in pilot mode until November 30, closed from December through March, and resumed operations starting April 1 this year.

During the 40-day pilot operation last year, 2,660 people visited the Cheongyangsan Camping Site, and from April 1 to August 31 this year, 8,172 people visited the site over five months.

The 'Cheongyangsan Suwon Camping Site,' a result of mutual cooperation between Suwon City and Bonghwa County, is located in Bonghwa County, Gyeongbuk Province. The facility comprises 12 auto-camping zones including 9 deck camping spaces and 3 gravel camping spaces, as well as 18 accommodation facilities including 6 caravans for 6 people, 5 easy camping spaces (mini-caravans), and 7 glamping units.

Fifty percent of all facilities are allocated through lottery prioritizing Suwon citizens and Bonghwa County residents, while the remaining 50% are allocated through random lottery. Winners are announced at 10 a.m. on the 16th, and payment must be completed within 24 hours of the announcement to confirm the reservation. Remaining unreserved facilities are open for first-come, first-served reservations starting at 11 a.m. on the 17th of the month.

An official from Suwon City stated, "During autumn when the autumn foliage reaches its peak, visitors will be able to experience the true charm of camping amid the beautiful natural scenery of Cheongyangsan," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide visitors with special camping experiences where nature and local culture harmonize."

Meanwhile, Suwon City will conduct a satisfaction survey on the Cheongyangsan Suwon Camping Site and a survey on user-centered program preferences through the mobile civic participation platform Saebittalk Talk until September 16. The city plans to create a better camping environment by reflecting visitors' feedback.
