[News S=Im Un-yong Reporter] Yangpyeong County has set sail with strong momentum in the 9th civilian government under the vision of 'People and Nature, Happy Yangpyeong.' The key foundation of the 9th civilian government lies not in unconditional preservation of the natural environment but in 'meaningful utilization.' The vision is to create a 'warm-hearted community' where beautiful nature and people harmonize and residents live together without conflict. County Governor Jeon Jin-seon expressed his determination to expand direct communication with county residents and strengthen field-focused administration to continue Yangpyeong's uninterrupted development.

The 9th civilian government's first steps will focus on field visits and communication. Governor Jeon will begin his inaugural day on the 1st with a visit to the Monument to War Heroes and then hold a 'policy direction briefing for the 9th civilian government' to review key county administration tasks and share new county governance directions.

Following this, he will visit Yangpyeong Hospital and the Elderly Welfare Center to examine medical and care services and directly hear the voices of vulnerable groups. In the afternoon, he will attend the youth policy supporters appointment ceremony and sequentially visit eco-friendly farming households and youth startup support project sites, continuing field-focused activities that encompass welfare, agriculture, and youth. This demonstrates his commitment to making field-focused administration embracing all generations—welfare, agriculture, and youth—the starting point for 9th civilian government county administration.

New channels for communication with the general public are also being established. The county will designate every Thursday as 'Communication Day' and operate the 'communicative county office' on an ongoing basis. The key is to establish a face-to-face communication channel where Governor Jeon directly meets with residents in his office to engage in substantive dialogue. Consultation topics are unlimited, ranging from civil affairs, licensing, social welfare, and employment to inconveniences in daily life and policy suggestions. For effective interviews, relevant department heads will be present, and after meetings, relevant departments will establish immediate action plans and promptly notify results. Additionally, the communications and public relations officer will continuously manage a 'communication card' and conduct follow-up management to ensure that citizen petitions are reflected in actual policies.

The four major county administration directions—core pledges to open Yangpyeong's future—will also begin full operation. First, the county will make an all-out effort to expand transportation infrastructure, including promoting the 'Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway' including the Gangha Interchange and establishing a foothold for the 'Gaegun-Yongmun extension.' Following the presidential office's directive to resume the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway project, momentum is expected to build. Additionally, the county will vitalize the civilian economy and establish a virtuous cycle system through attracting an equestrian theme park on the Yongmun Shooting Range site, releasing agricultural promotion areas, and elevating Semiwon to national garden status.

The county will also accelerate construction of a comprehensive welfare safety net. Led by converting Yangpyeong Hospital into a county-operated hospital, the county will establish a 'Yangpyeong County Hospital' equipped with emergency medical systems and plans to create a 'memorial culture park' within the term. Additionally, the county will reduce welfare blind spots through introducing a 24-hour AI elderly care system and actively operating a youth-friendly city.

Leading future agriculture and expanding cultural and tourism infrastructure are also key tasks. The county will advance agricultural product distribution systems and introduce healing agriculture to enhance agricultural competitiveness, while expanding cultural and tourism infrastructure through establishing a 'Yangpyeong Arts Hall,' hosting national-level art competitions, and creating a 'nature-friendly theme park' for people with pets.

The county will also focus on creating a good environment for raising children, the region's future growth engine. Plans include comprehensively inspecting youth commute routes, constructing an online educational platform, and attracting Korea Polytechnic University to the Gyeonggi Future Education Yangpyeong Campus site to lay the groundwork for nurturing local talent.

The county will pursue customized specialized pledges for each of the 12 eup and myeon districts to achieve balanced development without leaving anyone behind. Major projects include △Munho Stream park development in Seojong-myeon △Semiwon national garden promotion in Yangseo-myeon △Gangha Bridge construction in Gangha-myeon △Promotion of 50,000 population target in Yangpyeong-eup and completion of water mist park Y-shaped suspension bridge △Eco-friendly R&D techno valley promotion in Okcheon-myeon △Tourism resource development of Sori Mountain in Danwol-myeon △Historical tourism belt creation in Jipyeong-myeon △Parkgolf course expansion in Cheongun-myeon △Early commencement of general industrial complex in Yangdong-myeon.

In particular, Governor Jeon plans to focus administrative capabilities on enhancing execution by linking pledges with the eastern area balanced development 'supplementation project' promoted since the 8th civilian government, ensuring that pledges lead to changes in residents' lives.

Governor Jeon Jin-seon said, "Through participatory administration that directly listens to residents' precious opinions and reflects them in policies, I will realize field-focused and practical county governance and create a 9th civilian government united through communication," adding "I will continue to work with residents to create an attractive Yangpyeong where people and nature, life and future are interconnected—a place worth staying and living in."
