[News S=Reporter Eom In-yong] Namyangju Songra Elementary School (Principal Kim Young-seok) announced on the 2nd that it held a special graduation ceremony in the school auditorium on December 30 last year and awarded elementary school diplomas to 9 grandmother graduates.

This was a meaningful moment realizing academic dreams through the 'Literacy Education Program with Elementary School Credential Recognition,' and the graduation ceremony was filled with emotion.

The literacy education program was operated to provide educational opportunities for seniors who had missed the chance to learn reading and writing, and to help them realize their academic dreams. Over the past 3 years, the grandmothers consistently attended school and studied subjects such as Korean language and mathematics, regaining confidence and the joy of learning beyond reading and writing skills.

Particularly, sixth-grade graduates also attended the graduation ceremony and were deeply moved by the seniors' passion and dedication to learning. Additionally, an art exhibition showcasing poems and essays written by the senior graduates was held, receiving great response.

Kim Young-seok, principal of Namyangju Songra Elementary School, said in his graduation remarks, "Today's graduates, the main characters of this ceremony, have shown the true meaning of learning," and added, "I hope you will continue to find joy in scholarship and confidence, making your lives increasingly enriched."
